About Us

The Victim Advocate Program was established in January 1993 and currently employs 2 full time Victim Advocates, 5 On-Call Victim Advocates, and a Program Associate.  Our Vision is to minimize the impact of crime, violence or abuse against, or by, Florida State University students.  Our Mission is to provide free, confidential, and compassionate assistance to primary and secondary victims of crime, violence or abuse against, or by, Florida State University students through advocacy, education and training.

In December 2000, the Victim Advocate Program started Men Advocating Responsible Conduct (MARC), a program for, about and by males who seek to educate their male peers concerning the importance of appropriate and responsible behavior in all aspects of university life.  Though still working closely with the Victim Advocate Program, in 2007, MARC became a Student Government affiliated student organization.
